In marketing-ese, I “develop strategies to deliver a clear message to a particular audience,” but to most people that doesn’t mean anything, so let’s say I figure out how to get the point across. Public engagement efforts, internal communications, business presentations, advertising – their success or failure is predicated on their ability to deliver a clear message that will stick with the audience. In the past, I’ve worked on all of these, and each one requires a combination of universal truths and specific strategies in order to get the point across.
